12/16/2023 0 Comments Roll back timing gun![]() Do they all work on positive ground cars if powered correctly? In my points system with solid copper bumblebee wires and non resistor plugs what should I use? Because I don't have a timing specification for my lightly modified engine I just time by feel starting with 10 degree static. I seems that it depends on your system so to speak. I have an old 70's Craftsman that seems to work. I have been reading this thread with anticipation of the result and recommendations because I too need a timing light. PS Accuspark also sells a range of strobe lights at acceptable prices, see ebay Įdited 4 time(s). And the CSI has its inbuilt static BTDC setting option with a LED indication for getting the right position (0, 3 or 7 degrees on static added depending on the curve) So using a strobe is only for doublechecking the advance if I am curious about the curve with or without its vac line attachedīTW my old, non-dial back one has to be inserted between sparkplug and lead on cylinder #1 and hereby is not sensitive to RFI And my CSI ignition does not wear the traditional way so does not drift. However possessing already a non-dial back type and this one is enough, another third one will be too much. ![]() In the mean time I found better ones at the web. Still it misses a rpm counter and the adjustment knob to set the amount of degrees of advance turns much too freely and feels flimsy. ![]() I once bought a Gunson one since their products (Eezibleed, carb balancer, Colortunes) served me well.
